American Toast

While visiting Nakhorn Sri Thammarat, I stayed with a family. In trying to share a little of my gratitude for their hospitality and give them a little of my home culture that doesn't come from McDonald's, I decided to cook something for them.

Unfortunately, my cooking skills are limited as were their utensils. I finally thought about French Toast. Maple syrup was out of the question, but I could substitute canned pie filling (who knew you could find blueberry pie filling in Nakhorn Sri Thammarat???)

So my last night there, I cooked this:

I used condensed milk to sweeten the blueberry pie filling. It wasn't half-bad.

Anyways, I did regret cooking French toast as a sample of American food. I suppose I could have called it American toast.
